This has already been an interesting project as I get to discover so many new things that are amazingly close to home.  Today I notes the stunning views north from the north end of Stonehedge Drive.

As the crow flies Jefferson Heights is about 2 miles from home, yet I don’t recall ever being in the southern reaches of the streets there.

Even though I ran in the late morning, it was another sauna run.  77° on departure and 82° on return.

Hot hills ruled the day.  If my feet were pounding on a downhill, my heart was pounding for an uphill.

Another scorcher too, today it was 83° during the late afternoon run.

Between the hills and hot pavement I got an unusual (for me) blister on a big toe.  I’ll need to switch to alternate shoes for next run.

Yet another beautiful day for a run: 60′ish, low humidity, and bright blue skies.

Running downtown, while not the best, will be okay.  Just need to be ever vigilant for drivers pulling out, car doors and kids intercepting my path and irregular surfaces and objects under foot.  Urban running 101.

Today was the first time I ran any of the strip shopping area.  While probably not as hazardous as the downtown, it will surely prove to be less enjoyable with the trash, traffic fumes and people wrapped (rapt?) in their automobiles.

A great run on a beautiful late afternoon. I actually felt like I was running back up the hills home instead of trudging up.

For anyone that should be reading along, my doubts as to my ability to run all of Bennington is not based so much on my physical capabilities, or lack thereof, but ability to carve out the time to do so. In addition to work and family obligations, we are looking to expand our home grown foods this year, and preparing for a possible greenhouse construction as well as exploring a few sheep, and all the needed physical requirements, for next year. Need to paint the house too. And sleep, can’t forget sleep!

Quite a few turns today – had to study the proposed route for a couple minutes before going out.  Didn’t miss a single planned street!
